Bill Rombach
Bio:
Hi all,
My name is Bill Rombach I am the owner of Shell Creek Game Calls. My experience
in Waterfowling began at a early age of seven. With my father and my grandfather
in the great rainwater basin in Nebraska we spent many hours duck hunting the
marshes. Wielding a .410 shotgun I was never a huge threat to the ducks at that
age however a lifelong love and pursuit of waterfowl was born. My father
and our family did a lot of Duck hunting along the Platte River that makes its
way through Nebraska.
At the age of Twelve my family moved to Ogallala
Nebraska. My father built our home on the shores of Lake McConaughy, a lake 21
miles long and 3 miles wide. "Big Mac" as it is called was were I found my love
of hunting Canada Geese. Most of our hunting was done on the vast sand beaches
in horse tank pit blinds. When I was twelve I shot my first Canada Goose with my
fathers Ithaca 10 Guage on the shores of Big Mac. Back then Henrieta Goose
shells and resonate chamber Goose calls were the ticket.
After the resonate chamber calls me and my friends moved into
the flute calls. We are all blowing short reeds now. I really don't know if they
will ever build a better sound then what was started with the short reed
designs. I will say after 30 years of Waterfowling I have seen a lot of changes
and learned a lot. I love getting out so I can learn more. Thank you for
visiting our site The field staff and myself are vailable for any questions you
may have about our calls. Good hunting and be safe.
Bill

J.D. Mitchell (right)
Bio:
Hello , my name is James Mitchell. After living in big cities for most of my childhood I knew it wasn’t for me. So after graduation I moved to a small town in Nebraska were I guess you could say my love for the outdoors started. After harvesting my first deer with a bow, I knew I was hooked on a new way of life. Wanting to learn more about hunting I started hunting pheasants ,dove ,turkey and then it happened, I went on my first waterfowl hunt. Well that was about 10 yrs ago and I have to say I have been addicted ever since. Trying all kinds of techniques and all kinds of calls and still to this day love to just sit and listen to the birds, then try to figure out why and how they make the sounds they do. Chasing geese from Minnesota, across the plains of Nebraska or wherever time and money (or my family) will let me go.
After trying many different calls I really began to worry if I had the capability of calling geese, and well I guess that’s about the time Bill R. showed me his new call. I have been using Shell Creek Game Calls for the last couple of years now and my bird numbers have came up each year. This call has made it easier for me to produce the sounds that I hear from the geese.

Craig Lutjelusche
Bio:
How's it going everybody? My name is Craig Lutjelusche and I am here to tell you a little bit about myself. I am from east central Nebraska, born and raised. the Platte River and corn fields are a beautiful combination for waterfowl. My passion for waterfowl hunting really didn't come into full swing until about six years ago. you know like in your blood, eat, and sleep and think waterfowl. I really started hunting waterfowl when I was about eight. Tagging along with my dad out to the Platte River every Saturday and Sunday. Unfortunately, about the time I was able to start swinging my trusty Winchester 20ga, my dad and his hunting group had lost their lease on the river and waterfowl hunting was over for me until about six years ago. It was then that the passion for waterfowl was reborn and stronger than ever. Now every chance I get you will find my son and I in a blind somewhere, with my Shell Creek call in one hand and my now trusty Browning 10ga in the other. Chasing flock after flock from the river in the mornings to the corn fields in the evenings. In the relentless pursuit to outsmart and outwit those awesome birds.

Tony Burke
Bio:
A love for hunting and the outdoors was something that was unavoidable for me as I grew up in the outdoors hunting and fishing with my dad and grandpa. I got my start in bird hunting by chasing ringneck pheasants and bobwhite quail in South Central Nebraska when I could barely walk. I was the family "bird dog" and loved to flush the birds out of the weedy canyons, field edges, and plum thickets before I was old enough to carry my first shotgun. About that time, my grandpa invested in a German Wirehair Pointer and I couldn't believe that we ever hunted without a real dog before that. I promised myself that I would hunt with a dog for the rest of my life.
Almost all of my memories of my childhood revolve around chasing upland game but I grew into a diehard waterfowler in high school when my family moved to North Platte, Nebraska. Located between the North Platte and South Platte Rivers, the area does not produce very many pheasants but the waterfowl annually crowd the abundant streams, reservoirs, potholes, and grain fields. I was hooked the very first time I went duck hunting when my friends were able to coax a flock of green-winged teal, feet down, into joining our decoys on that small backwater slough. I was ecstatic to be able to harvest my first duck but it was the interaction with the birds that captivated me the most. I was in awe of the way they responded in unison to the calling and the decoys and I immediately started working on my calling skills and building my own decoy spread.
We were able to convince enough ducks and geese that our decoy spreads were real birds to keep us rising out of bed, long before the sun, every morning we could in weather that assured everyone else that we were insane. My equipment has changed a lot from that first duck hunting trip but my passion for the sport has only grown stronger and every day in the marsh or field is better than the last. I still prefer to share all of my experiences afield with great friends and my two labs, Gin and Tonic, and can't wait to pass our family traditions on to my daughter.
